Occasionally, the best entertainment events are home grown. Last night, the city of Logan held the annual Independence Day celebration at the university stadium. Artists from all over the valley (including my choir) and beyond came to entertain about 14,000 Cache Valley residents. Sitting on the stage and watching the thousands of families joining together to celebrate freedom and thank our service men and women, I was struck yet again by the notion of how there is so very much more that unites us as Americans than divides us. Why is it that we need a holiday to remind us of this?
