"Skyline"

During my visit to Arches National Park in June of last year, I witnessed many storms roll across the desert landscape.  On this day, I darted from one scenic spot to the next trying to take advantage of the interesting cloud formations that formed backdrops to the magnificent arch structures.  Luckily, there was a break in the clouds just at the golden hour, that brief time before sunset when the sun's light is most filtered through our atmosphere.  Stones that were dull and lifeless hours before, like those here at Skyline Arch, now burned with fiery orange and red colors.  For anyone visiting Arches on a photography expedition, I recommend strategically planning your day to take advantage of morning and evening light.  It will make a world of difference for your experience in the Utah desert.
