"Lights in the Sky"
Fourteen thousand people all watched the fireworks at Logan's Freedom Fire celebration this weekend. That's twenty-eight thousand eyes focused like laser beams on the spectacular feats of pyrotechnic genius. Just as we sang the last three notes of Battle Hymn of the Republic, canons in the stadium began shooting flares into he sky - the cacophony was sufficiently loud that all the sopranos (including me) sang the last high B flat with the gusto of opera divas. Then the choir filed off the stage down to the field to watch the fireworks with the rest of the audience. From this vantage point, I felt like I was in the middle of the show as the concussive blasts beat against my chest. Pure fun.
